Cummins swap

I recently started thinking of the option of cummins swap for rangers and ran it by some co workers of mine. I came to the conclusion that the only option that is reasonable is one of the small 4 cylinder cummins that are typically used in industrial generators. I believe they are referred to as the 4c or 4 h motors but i absolutely could be wrong. I am really posting to just to see what you all think. I know that the "euro" ranger wildtrak has turbo diesel motor offered but i know it would be much more mula to get a hold of one. Some food for thought.

Thanks

Its a 4bt, most commonly found in "bread trucks" there's been quite a few of those swaps done in a ranger, its easier in the older generations though. I thought about a 4bt for a while, but lately I've been thinking of a 5.9 Cummins swap along with a SAS, But I wouldn't be doing that for quite some time.

+1 ^^^

4BT swap has been done alot and you can often find them for sale.

Current T6 or older Mazda BT-50 (international Ranger) is a larger vehicle closer to F-150, and out side of the name has little in common with North American Ranger
So an engine swap from one of these would be impractical.
Better to use a diesel engine readily available in North America.
The VW TDi engine would be interesting swap

My DD is a TDI SportWagen. Loads of torque and really fun to drive. There have been quite a few VW TDI engines installed in Rangers. Check out TDIClub.com the conversion threads.
