need some opinions

What do you guys think of taking the side rear windows out of an extended cab ranger and cutting them into the roof above the seats?

Would definitely be different... not something I'd attempt though!

Good luck with that. Won't ever find me hacking into my roof like that.

It would be interesting, but a TON of work.

Let us know if you are going to attempt this or not.

This is what your doing effectively. The side windows aren't the right type of windows for that anyways.

^^^ What he said... those T-top windows are 3/8" to 1/2" glass... not thin at all.

Side windows on the roof would not be the best idea.

Also, you have to factor in the reduction of safety when you hack your roof apart... and then re-engineer/design/build it to be strong(er) again.

It was just an idea. I just scrapped out a 92 and the windows are some of the parts that I kept. So it was just an idea that I was throwing around.

It can be done quite easily the windows are held in with 4 studs in the frame and sealant, Cutting the roof would not cause any structural issues as the area that I was thinking about is between the roof rails where it is just flat sheet metal. I realize the glass is not right but it shouldn't be too hard to have the glass replaced with tempered glass.

Now once again this is just an Idea i was thinking about.

Upon reading I instantly thought of those Nissans with the stupid moonroofs....

+1 for the aftermarket professionally installed moon roof
