Neon Light question

This is something that I have been wanting to do forever but I just cant figure out how to do it. I have neons hooked up inside of my truck which of course cut on by a button, but something I have always wanted is to wire up the lights so that they cut on when I open the doors...and maybe even make it so they are the only thing to cut on instead of the overhead light. Of course I want to still be able to cut on the overhead light when I need it but at night time I think that would be so sweet to just have those neon lights cut on when I open the doors.
How in the world could I do it??

just tap into the power wire like was said....you will prob have to remove the dome light to get to it, or just remove the headliner and run all the wires above the headliner...would prob be easier to do that....

Now this is what I was thinkin..where can I find the factory door switch? And how do I work the relay? I know this is so simple but I must say I know absolutely nothing when it comes to wiring.
