One of the biggest problems is the body lines are different on the sides. I have seen rangers with explorer grills grafted on though

I've seen very very few pics of this swap. I want to do one.....called Exploranger. expo drivetrain, expo interior, expo front sheet metal, ranger body/frame, shaved upper bodymolding. it'd be sick!

I have seen this front end swap before, but they always shave the body line cuz it looks terrible otherwise.

It does look pretty cool though....just a lot of time and money.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html

In the nineties, Ford SVT built this prototype 5.0L Ranger with a Gen2 Explorer front clip. As mentioned above, the body profile is different at the fender/door junction and that would need to be addressed on any Ex/Ranger sheet metal swap.

This truck went through through a few variations in its life but obviously never made it to production. The last time I saw it running around Dearborn, it had a very healthy exhaust note AND a boost gauge on the A-pillar...

Looks like the future of my truck. I found a mountaineer limited with the 5.0 AWD and air suspensions that will be grafted to my truck along with the front clip.

Bump...

Anyone done a later model Explorer front end? I was looking at an 04 the other day, thinking it might look good on a Ranger.
