02SlammedRanger's 86 Ranger Rebuild

So I bought another Ranger. This go around is a 1986 regular cab short bed with a freshly rebuilt 2.3L and a freshly rebuilt 5 speed manual trans. I got this jem for 700 bucks. The plan with this one is to put it back together and drive it while the other one gets modded out. One day I might turbo this one tho, But we'll see. Here's a pic of the truck

Yeah I couldn't pass up the deal. It should be a nice Daily Driver. It will be dark gray/silver. The hood is painted the color the truck will be.

So I've been really lazy and haven't even started anything. Waiting on a new clutch and flywheel before I put the engine and trans in but I figured I'd post another pic in the middle of the night

since the motors yellow, you should do a yellow paintjob with a black cowl hood and black wheels!!

Neat little project. Reminds me of a possible new project I'm trying to acquire actually.

Here's a little update. Painted the engine bay with some extreme engine coat paint from eastwood. Really nice stuff. Started putting the engine together. This week I get my injectors the 2.3 turbo valve cover and the rotated 120 degree upper intake. Intake set me back a few hundred bucks. Also got a 12 gallon fuel cell for 40 bucks! Solid motor mounts should be here soon and new clutch. Then the engine and trans can go back in the truck
