Just got her. I plan on making a rock crawler. It was cheap, it runs and has a solid front, so I couldn't pass it up. The steering has a lot of play, the gauges are all broken, and I think it is prone to over-heating, but I am excited for the build up. More to come...
OK got the brakes problem, handled.
New rear lines, wheel cylinders, spring kit and shoes... all waiting to be installed. As well as new Energy Suspension complete bushing kit.
That will take a while to install.

That's pretty cool. A guy around the block from me has a nice one -- not built up much. A modest lift if any and slightly larger tires but it's still very cool. I keep meaning to stop in and say "Hi" but I haven't done it yet.
They are tough little trucks. My buddy had an 82 Nissan King Cab, 4x4, 5 speed. Awesome little truck. The engine and trans were excellent.....until the clutch exploded. The bodies rust out bad on them though....never let them get out of control or you'll be replacing entire body panels.
Keep us updated on the progress for sure.

Removed the bed, spare tire mount, and rear bumper.
replaced the bushings on the leaf springs and shackles.
replaced the rear brake hardware, including 1 metal brake tube, and parking brake cable.
waiting for new wheel bearings and seals before I put the rear all back together.
this has been all tedious, uninteresting stuff. I will post pictures when I get into the front half of the drivetrain
