How do you plan on loading the front half onto the trailer.
I bet those lines are for the rear heat. |
btw not bored! a guy at work is making a trip to NC tomorrow, I told him I would drive split the gas, well he had to go home and talk with his wife, guess she didnt want to? But that is why I started ripping into it last night. Got to get the ranger done tonight or tomorrow.

I bet those lines are for the rear heat. Loading will be easy with bobby (Bobcat skid steer), unloading well, someone just needs to push it off. |

I cut it in half so its not so heavy to haul down there. its also less wind drag and takes up less space in the garage. looks pretty goofy. The back half is sitting outside now.
lessons learned.. dont cut freon lines (stinks) a navigator has radiator lines going the rear? even if a vehicle has not ran in a while its still got gas in the line the front of a navigator is still very heavy. Your towing the ranger down with the one fiddy and the engine on the trailer I am guessing correct? |
nah just taking the navigator down right now. that way Nick can tear into the engine and get it ready.
|
Damn you, now i want a 5.4 in my reg cab. Supercharge that ***** so i can get new tires every month.
Reg Cab 5.4 on 22's. Hmmmmmm... Go go Zach! cant wait to see it done. |
we have a lot of waiting ahead of us. not gonna put it in the ranger till the end of summer.

We need pics of the half navigator.
|
just send me everything, I'll truggy it so I don't have to worry about squeezing it into the engine compartment ;)
|
ah crap i forgot to take pics! ill have to remember tomorrow night. sorry guys.
|
Damn Beard, this is awesome, can't wait to see the progress come along and eventually the finished product... Ure a genius Beard, pure GENIUS... I knew you'd put a Ford power plant in it!!! : )
|
Yep, definately glad its still pure bred Ford... the 6.0 c"heavy" LS engine would have been a PITA and lots of people disagree with cross breeding, including me lol. Man, this is just gonna be awesome. I can't wait to see the finished project... I actually am thinking about a road trip to Indiana at the end of the summer now...

I have to ask(I dunno if you have answered, don't wanna read 8 pages), why a 5.4 4V motor?? There really aren't any gains over the 4.6 4V and parts are somewhat cheaper and more attainable. Was it just what was available or was it your first choice?? |
That was my first choice. I wanted a DOHC and either 4.6 or 5.4 the 5.4 was first preference, just because its bigger. lol

You know when you get that motor in you have to 4 link the rear on coilovers right???? I dont think it will work unless you do haha, you should do that soon cause you would have a buyer for those leaf springs
|
my leaf springs are Alcan chevy springs.
I am gonna 4 link it but not until after the motor. because I am going to 4 link/cage/backhalf/bumpers/whatever else is needed at that time. |
you just cant stop can you. lol
|
now whats the fun in that? it might slow down after the engine. I need to buy a house!
|
ha! im one step ahead of you. mine will be done in may. then i get to start back on my truck. lol
i might have missed this but what trans/tcase combo are you runnin with this swap? |
