started to work on my bumper a little bit more today. figured i would made a goofy lookin ifs skid plate so i could bump stuff and slide up it until my tires caught. and well, it happened. not done yet but heres how it sits.

i also capped off the sides that ive been slacking on doing since i made it originally. anyway, ill brace it up a bit tomorrow and make it nice and stout before i put it back on. oh a little grinding and a bit of paint and itll look pimp

i just see the front plate being beat to hell

you should have built a skid like mine, just to protect the radiator and not really mess with approach angle. We'll see how it works and have a good write up with pics this time next week

it was the first thing i ever built and didnt really know what i was going. i cut sch40 to get the angle i wanted and never boxed in that rectangular tubing that is the main part of the bumper. and i never braced the tubing either. so now they are both cracked on the welds(not mine). so i have some dom that is actually bent to the correct angle that i need that i am going to replace it with them go straight up to the frame to brace them with. and im going to cap off the ends of the rectangular tubing. so itll be pure beef. ill let you know when im done with it. itll be sexy.

I've really been thinking about making one like that. Can't wait to see how it looks on the truck.

yea i thought about making it bolt on to the bumper but my original draft failed miserably. so i just decided to weld it on. and will gussett the crap out of it. hehe

ill grind it down and paint it tonight and hopefully have it back on and post up some pics.

managed to finally get some more work done on my front bumper last night and put it back on....

now all its needs is a repaint and itll be good to go. i painted it but then forgot that i didnt finish welding my bracing in the back so yea paint does not like heat. and i ran out of paint so ill pick some up today...

yea understatement. its gonna get serious hell this weekend. kool part about it is that i didnt have to drill into the crossmember. superlift already had some holes in there. lol. so i just drilled my plate and bolted er in. im sure there will be a carnage report posted on sat night before the weekend is over...

I wish making one work with the rcd crossmember was that easy. It's all funky shaped.

Don't tear it up too much.
