I'm wondering where you mount your Ballasts? I had HID's last year and after 2 months the ballast kept going out. If these things are holding up pretty good then I might give it a try too.

So I'm curious what specifically do like better about the projector lights vs. the HID?

This looks like a sweet mod, I just want to know the specific pros and cons versus the HID kits.

Projector's give you a more concentrated beam with a clean cut off line which in return does not offer a glare or scattered light pattern to on coming traffic the beam is even wider then HIDS will offer. Were as drop in HIDS will scatter more and may gave oncoming traffic the glare, but if you angle the headlights right you can help reduce the glare.

I emailed the person where you got the HIDS from about replacement bulbs and says they do not offer replacement bulbs. What are your options on finding a replacement bulb?

Is the beam on the projector wider because the the projector is sitting further out from the focal point compared to the HID's?

I assume that this is one factor.

one quick question. when baking the headlights, do they let off a smell like something burning?

They'll smell like hot plastic...but not melting or burning plastic. if that makes any sense.

Ty's is 100% custom from a donor vehicle. WowMike's is a kit that doesn't require housing modifications, other than baking to install.

let me dig up an old thread here (well i didn't dig it up, billy (casper98) did, i'm just going to revive it)

are these the same ones you guys used?

PROJECTOR LEN KIT Angel Eye E46 M3 TSX H4 D2S HID XENON : eBay Motors (item 270405493333 end time Apr-04-10 2114 PDT)

1) the seller is saying that you don't have to modify the light at all, and it's completely plug and play... i assume this is NOT correct? and you have to bake and open the light, the same as the OP did?

2) the seller also says that if they burn out, they will replace them, free of charge... but you have to send the origional ones back... these don't just come back out... do they? have you guys had any burning out issues?

3) where should i get ballasts for this, if i decide to do it (i'm running stock headlights right now)

4) the seller is saying that the bulbs come factory installed, and cannot be removed... does this sound ****ed up?

I think the stock bulbs for those projectors are either H3 or H4. I know its not the usual 9007.. If anyone is going to be making these projectors headlights to sell i would definitely buy a pair for sure.

Yeah that's what i thought, I really want to do a set of projector headlights considering my beam output with my stock reflector housing has been bothering me for over a year. I really wish there was a company that came out with projector headlights that didn't look like they came from a spaceship.

Just to let ya know - I'm working on trying to find a few links for the EBay store - Have had a few messages about them fo ra whiel now, and I'll be replying back soon as I find the links =)

And I agree on the ^^^ post, most of those already-made projector lens ones either suck on light output, or look like they came from a spaceship - very dissatisfying!

So for the retro fit ones, are they just plug and play? I'm assuming that the retrofit part plugs in the stock housing and the new bulbs plug into the retrofit piece?
