Okay so i got my 3.0 ballistic joints and 4' of dom on order i will be extending them about a foot then plate them in also. I want to have this project done by august 14 cuz i will be taking the truck up to our cabin wheeling. What would be the best way to slide the dom over the stock arms should i just grind the arms down till the tube fits or could i get that arm in a lathe and turn it down?

I think that's how Beard did Evan's. Just grinded them down and slid it over.

i did Evans like that, but tossed them in the lathe and spun them down, it worked fine but i like the other way better now, just cleaner and just as strong.

well ballistic is taking there sweet time as usual but i have everything else i need so as soon as they get here its go time.
I am also thinking about pushing my axle forward to because i ended up with the axle about an inch further back then it should be what do you guys think i should do leave it where it is or push it forward i dont want to have to change my steering and tracbar setup also though?

 

how far are you going to push it forward? i would imagine steering and trac bar would have a lil play, might have to adjust the trac bar though

 

One inch forward. i might just put two holes in my mount bracket so i can push it forward and see how it is then if it binds up i can go to the hole farther back.

 

If you're going to grind them down, use a lathe. Don't just go at it *****-nilly with a grinder. That's my 2 cents. Good luck on your project!

I called ballistic today cuz i ordered my stuff on the 9th of this month and it stil isnt hear and they said it will ship out today and will take 4 days to get here they really need to work on getting their stuff out faster imo. So now i wait 4 more days

 

yeah they do they loose business like crazy when they are so slow.

it took me 4 weeks to get my stuff.

josh it took 4 weeks for his stuff too. they are really freaking slow. Now I just call, ask if its in stock and when they can ship it. If they say today ill buy otherwise i pass. LOL

 

Where else can you get that type of stuff though BTF i s the only other place i know off.

ya i will admit that it was worth the wait their quality is amazing and i agree the 2.63's would have been plenty but i like to overbuild stuff.

 

well i got both mounts made i just have to make a crossmember now to weld these to and then extend my arms.
