Yea, and BTF has a basic lt like the dixon kit and a "race kit" which is 6" wider, uses a fabbed knuckle and D44 outers with rcv axles.

I'm pretty sure it's the exact same kit just sold through Vegas desert fab. That makes me wonder if Aaron isn't making them anymore and they got passed over to VDF?

I think they just took over all the fabrication for almost everything Dixon Bros was doing. If you look at stuff on the Dixon Bros website, you can see it says it's handled through VDF.

Adrian do you have any plans for motor upgrades or just keeping it stock?

Hey, just saw you were on here as well and saw your thread. I'm doing my 5.0 swap and got a thread started in the V8 section. I'll update on DR as well, but there's a ton of good help over here!

yeah, both upper and lower mount in stock locations. But also good to put some weld washers around the lower bolt holes and weld some frame gussets for the top mounts.

Honestly I think its just going to stay stock, its more than enough for what I need and i have to start saving my pennies for the new ford GT lol

Yes Aaron dixon is out of the picture and completely out of the sport from what ive been told, VDZ bought all the tooling/jigs and rights to the dixon kits. Funny though they never got the info for the CV's so they had to re engineer those by themselves

Super clean man! I love your truck, and the Cobra. Sometimes I wish I still had a bed, but I wouldn't give up my full cage for it again haha. I love seeing people keeping their trucks clean...

Nice I need to call VDF and get a spare set for my truck. that seems like a strange spot for them to fail. its at a guage change in the shaft and a bit of a stress concentration.

how did it fail on you?

That one that I snapped was made in 2004, was on a truck that was seriously rat bagged and ended up getting totalled and then I got it.. also dixon's first 930 adapters were made of crap steel. The pair I have now from VDF are 4340 chromo and they are selling the adapters for $200 each so stock up while you can. Mike the ones you have MIGHT be the cheaply made ones too so call VDF asap.

good to know, I have a weird set of axles, the passenger side has the 930 bolted in and the driver side has it welded to the adapter.

I should give them a call Monday and just bite the bullet while they exist!
