All I did was rebuild an early 70's Torino c4 but swapped the output shaft and tail shaft housing for one I robbed out of a 84 Bronco2 2.8 C5 trans. Trans is nothing special but even in stock form will be 1000x better than these dam a4ld garbage.

Thats exactly what I was thinking of doing. I gotta get these old dry rotted tires off the wagon wheels then Im gonna drop em off at a little shop about 2 miles from my house that does sandblasting. I got an idea to make these wheels look pretty badass on the truck.

I also ordered new FX4 stickers but in blue instead of the red and Im going to do some quick body work so I can do a budget paint job in the same colors but with blue replacing all the red on the exterior so it matches the coilovers.Thinkin Silver wheels with blue rings.

Well after spending 13 days of my 18day X-mas vacation on the sofa with a blown out back I finally started on the B2 again this week.

Decided to get my motor and axles finished before I tore into the SAS. I tore the 5.0 apart and found a little set back. Its broken

Oh dont worry about the 88 as she is being well taken care of! It now has a 2.5" cowl hood,TeamZ anti-roll bar and 10way adjustable Strange shocks, 408 stroker that made 575hp NA, BW s400 75mm turbo, the same Centerlines from my old turbo ranger and a LONG list of other goodies still waiting to be bolted on. As soon as the B2 is rolling again it will be time to finish the 88. My woman told me if she cant make any passes in it this summer she is leaving me so I gotta get busy.

Finally making some progress....

Picked up a 87 T-bird 5.0 non-HO shortblock and some ported E7 heads last week.

Got the block cleaned, honed and painted today. Crank checked out perfect with no wear so I had it polished,de-bured and chamfered. I installed a 88 Mustang HO roller cam and new true roller timing set.

Im using a set of 1988 factory Mustang forged pistons and junked the T-bird cast pistons.I have a Melling HV oil pump and some underdrive pullies as well.

And I think Im going to use this 94 Mustang intake setup to make sure I have no clearance issues with my heaterbox and inlet setup.

Nice progress brian. With that intake what are you worried about hitting? The gt40 explorer intakes will flow more than the 94 mustang one if your looking for some junk yard power.

Well I was going to use a 87 Mustang upper but I like the 94 better because there is no EGR spacer and coolant lines to deal with or worry about. Since Im making shock hoops for my coilovers and a cross brace that will go over top of the motor I figured the 94 intake would at least help get all my inlet ducting out of the way. I know its not the best flowing intake but its low which will help with crossbrace and I figure this thing should make an honest 240hp/320ftlb which will be plenty to go crawl around with.

Kinda.....5.0 is sitting all pretty on the stand ready to be swapped in the week of the 4th of July when Im on vacation.C4 is done ready as well.

I decided to hold off on the SAS until I buy my own tube bender because I have a lot of other things planned as well and having my own bender will just make things go quicker and save me a ton of money.

Truck back in service for now sitting on new wheels and 35x12.5 KM2's. I fixed the front axle from last years trip to Bundy Hill and plan to beat the hell out of it this weekend.

I have the Ex 8.8 in the garage now and sunday I will start the 4.56/Lockrite install and get that ready to put in as well. I have some d35 4.56 gears Im gonna stick up front for the remainder of this summer too.
