Spammers, and how to deal with them...

There's been a rise on spammers on the site recently. If you see one, no need to reply in the thread. That will actually help them by keeping it in the active thread list.

Instead contact a Moderator or Admin, or easier yet just use the post report button to immediately notify all R-F.Com staff.

To do this, just click the icon in the spammer's post click that looks like this >>>

Thanks for your help with early identification...

I completely understand....

one thing i'd like to suggest though...

would it be possible to edit and/or delete their post so that the post itself was pointless.... those threads are locked... but.. anyone can still go in, take a look at the first post, and click his link... im just suggesting to delete that link so it won't go any further than that page.

I like your avatar, Mnemonic. When you login and you see it on the front page and your talking about spammers....it looks like you have a spammer tied down to the gurney and you're gonna torture his ***.

we have been having problems on broncoii.org too. For a while we had the admins approve all new members. but that obviously was to cumbersome. now with the help of members we are controlling the spam bots quicker. Actually I just killed one within 6 minutes of posting. I received the report and away it went into our landfill for admins to ban the name.
