Electrical Plug off the Fuse Box Question

Hi all, love this forum and have been reading all sorts of tips and now I have a question of my own. I am working on my grandfathers old 92 and found an electrical connection that is coming off the engine compartment fuse box that is not plugged in to anything. Would anyone be able to help me figure out what this is for and if it should be plugged in to anything? Thank you so much!

Might be for an under hood light, often unplugged because the switch would break and light would stay on draining the battery

But in 1992 Rangers were wired for all options so there can be a few wires that are not plugged in to anything
