Trouble codes galore!
Trouble codes galore!
I have a 92 2.3L My check CEL came on so I pulled codes. I came up with 334 on the koeo self test, and 172, 224, 327, 334, 337 in the continuous memory test. Can someone please help me with an approach to diagnose and fix this problem? Looking up the codes ain't a problem. What I'm not sure of is if there's a different meaning because of the combination of all of the codes. Is there a specific order to troubleshoot and/or fix?I think yall get my point. Thanks in advance
Ford 3-digit codes here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...3-digit-codes/
Always look up codes on a full list, the code the computer does NOT use are as helpful as the ones it does use
172 (R,M) Oxygen sensor not switching – system is or was lean – Single, Right or Rear HO2S – Fuel control
224 (M) Failure in ignition coil primary circuit – Ignition Systems
327 (O,R,M) EGR feedback signal is/was low – EVR or PFE
334 (O,R,M) EVP sensor is/was high – EVR
337 (O,R,M) EGR feedback signal is/was was high – EVR
Code 172, Lean
1992 2.3l just has the one O2 sensor
O2 sensors are the ONLY sensors that wear out, 12 years or 100k miles
If you don't know when it was last changed then Change it
224
ICM module(spark module) is the usual culprit for this code on a 1989 to 1994 2.3l
Check its ground, i.e. bolts that hold it to front of lower intake, they can rust out
Clear the codes and see what comes back for the 3 EGR system codes, they seem odd
