Delete Motor and Electronics

This is probably a stupid question, but is it feasible to just scrap all the computer stuff and put a carbureted motor and matching transmission? I could just use the electronics from the older carb motor setup and go that route. Is this crazy talk? Also I have a 2005 ranger, 2wd, short bed with a 5 speed. Thanks for your input!

What engine do you have now?

2005 will be a bit of a pain since it has Digital instrument cluster, no PATS though

Perhaps I could use an instrument cluster that would be compatible to that setup? I’m just spitballing. I don’t want to sell this Ranger because my dad gave it to me, but I’d like to upgrade the motor situation without jumping a ton of hoops
