PO542 plz helppp
Welcome to the forum
1994 has 3 digit codes
so 542, he shouldn't have added the P0 to the front
I assume a "no start" is what is happening
But the secondary fuel pump circuit is the 12volts going to the fuel pump in the tank, it means there is no 12volts
In the passenger side of cab, up behind the glove box mounted on the firewall is the Inertia switch, looks like this: https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qi...b1589f8c750-lq
See if the RED button on the top has popped up, if so press it back down(replace inertia switch if its popped up, as IT WILL pop again
If button is OK then check fuel pump fuse and may be replace Fuel Pump relay, or test it, both are in the engine fuse box
If any of this doesn't work then fuel pump in the gas tank is broken

Ford 3-digit code list(1993/94) seen here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...3-digit-codes/
118 (O,M) ECT sensor is/was high or open – ECT
ECT sensor is a 2 wire 5volt sensor only used by the computer, it tells the computer the Coolant Temp so computer knows when to "choke" the engine when its cold and when to not "choke" the engine when its warmed up
On a 1994 2.3l it's probably located on a heater hose by front of the engine, or next to the thermostat housing
Code means ECT is unplugged or has failed
Just FYI
ECT sensor has no connection to dash board Temp Gauge, that gauge uses a 12volt temp sender, the kind that has been used since vehicles had temp gauges, lol, 1930's or so
