its winter here and i sometimes turn my truk on in the morning for maybe 2-3 mins at most.but lately ive ben getting at best 12 mpg i get atmost 180 miles in a full tank. i need an oil change soon im about to check the tire pressure. i really need some help hear thx.

 

winter gas contains more ethonal which equals lower millage... its just the gas, once it starts to warm up your millage should go up

 

Wait for winter to end and hope it gets better.

 

Sorry so say its been really cold here the last week and I just filled up and I got 11mpg but thats with barely any highway and one day of playing in the snow with 4x4. I usaully get like 13-14 in the winter in the summer like 15-16 in town

 

should i use seafoam? an if so wear do i put it in

 

seafoams not going to do anything, its the winter gas thats causing your decline in millage... you can stick it in your tank and it will increase millage, but at 6$ a can youre going to lose even more money

no problem, winter sucks in all aspects, im down at like 15mpg with my 3.0 on the highway when its usually 19 in the summer so i cant wait for spring either

 

it felt like spring the other day here. near 80 degrees. now were back down to crap weather and sleet...

 

We've been having nice weather. Still cold, but not as cold as it normally is this time of year. And no new snow fall.

I used to think there was no such thing as the winter gas. I was told it was a myth around these parts. But I've been getting a steady 15.5 MPG's with no difference in my driving habits, with my hubs unlocked, and not even using four wheel drive, and I just sank $930 in repairs into the truck. So yeah, you guys talked me into being a believer. Even before I got this stuff done to my truck, I was getting about 20 MPG's during the summer months.

Oh, and I think adding the sea foam to your oil is better then the gas tank. I've heard a lot of horror stories about adding it to the gas, but I have had no trouble when I have added it to my oil. I let my truck run for about 15 minutes after adding it, though. I've been told that's what you should do.

 

The only time you add it into the crankcase (directly into the oil) is if you are ready to do an oil change and you want to clean the engine internals out real good.. you should only drive max of around 100 miles with the seafoam in your oil.. as it cleans, but it doesnt lubricate near as well.
