Good Cobra radar detector?

What is a good Cobra radar detector to buy? I do not want to buy anything else and please don't tell me why I am wrong. I had a cobra detector before and loved it. Want another one since it was stolen. Thinking of buying it off ebay. What specs should I look for? 12 band? Laser? I don't know. don't want to spend over $120.

No radar dector is good these days my friend, not to be the barrer of bad news. By the time that thing goes off they already have you locked in. The new radar's have a "quick set" button, the radar is off and un detectable until he hits a momentary switch and nabs you. Very few officers drive around with the radar constantly on. The only time the radar MAY help is when your on the highway, but after doing many ride alongs, i threw mine in my drawer and let off the gas pedal, because with the Technology they have now there useless.

How about just slow down and you will make more money in the long run. Saving on your gas bill, speeding tickets and on your not needed radar detector....

Thanks for the input. I don't usually speed. I know it is so late but I like to know where the cops are. When I had my old one, it would pick up cops just driving. That way, I don't do anything stupid.

So, anyone know a good radar detector from Cobra?

I am not gonna buy one of those $400 radar detectors that pay for your ticket. Usually, a speeding ticket in Indiana is only $150 ( I know from aparently going 23 over). So, if I buy a $120 radar detector plus $150 ticket does not equal $400.

I don't know anything about Cobras but the best radar detector on the market is the Valentine 1 but that will run you just under $400.

To tell you the truth any cobra you get is not good. Your guaranteed a ticket with one of those. the only thing they pick up is door openers. If your looking for a detector go on craigslist and look for escort products. They make very good ones, and you can find them for cheap. Believe me, in the long run you will be happy. My escort has saved me countless times. My buddy who has a cobra cannot say the same. Oh and to everyone who says radar detectors are useless in todays world because of instant on radar, all you gotta have is a car in front of you and your safe. Jst look for a detector with good K and Ka detection. Laser doesnt matter. By the time you get a laser alert they already have you. The only way to protect yourself against laser is to get a jammer, and those cost upwards of a thousand dollars.

you do know that they check radar by air right... thats what those big white barred lines on the shoulder are for...

Radar is radar is radar. A $50 cobra is going to pick up a radar long before it has your speed just as well as a $400 waste of money Valentine whatever. Along the same lines, LASER is LASER is LASER and detecting it also no different regardless of how much you pay for the detector. There is nothing to detect until he pulls the trigger. And when he does, either he gets you instantly, or he got the car in front of you instantly and you get a chance to slow down.

That's not radar. But none the less it is only in certain isolated locations and only when they happen to have a bird in the air. Ground based speed detection is 100x more popular.
