We used a huge excavator and it was really hard even with that. Then I got stuck in my atv trying to just get the rope over! It was the nasty...

I saw a bunch (dual axle) for sale on another forum I'm on. A lot of people build those trucks up for mudding down here.

They do great and already have 2.5 tons, all you really have to do is bob the frame, sell the 2nd axle, clean it up, put a little lift and tires/wheels.

I am wanting to do it as a project...

What did you do for lift, or rather how did you acomplish it?
everything is just a drop..we cut blocks out of 3/8ths material angled them a little..drilled the hole pattern for the brackets..welded them on the frame..bolted springs on did the front the same way...we added power steering took the pump from a 5ton. made a steering shaft.,

bobbed..dropped rear axle..chopped bed.. welded it up..ummm..yeah..

bought it from a government auction online.. 2100 out the door after taxes..
