good to see your gonna stick with it, i know how it makes you feel when something bad happens at work, before i got my truck i had a honda accord, and it got vandalized at work in broad daylight, shot my whole day to hell

Because you have insurance, Id get it fixed.. I only have the minimum..
you ought to see mine in person, i have scratches in the roof of my truck, clear coat scratches in my bed sides from when they used to feed the cows with my truck, and there are a couple of dents in my passengers door from before i got it, and they don't bother me too much, but she sure does shine up good

Go for the Stang. The Chargers are a POS. Plus I build the seats for them, so if you get a loose hog ring in your ***, you can thank me.

well insurance companies will pay out 75% of the value of the truck. I dont think they'll total it out.

Dude listen to your insurance company. In all honesty, my insurance company offeres LIFETIME WARRANTY on all repair work if I use their repair shop. I lucked out 'cause my insurance company also requires the use of aftermarket parts but none were available at the time by truck was rebuilt so I have OEM. Either way though, with a lifetime warranty on the work that's worth something. You could always do what I did with my windshield... walk into the shop and tell them you want OEM but you want them to bill insurance not you for the difference. I know a windshield is different than body panels but might be worth a shot.

its roughly $300/$350 to paint a panel. I only remember about 10 hours to replace a roof (once the glass and all is out), but i havent written an estimate in a while so i might be a little off with that figure. I know it might seem obvious, but its being charged per hour by predetermined rates. (i.e. - a hood is generally a 3.5 hour paint labor time charge) If the price of the repair outweighs the price of a new part, they replace it. simple right?

Domestic cars suprisingly have expensive parts. I dont know if the fenders have to be replaced (they dont look that bad in the pics) but the hood and roof look very bad. The only parts on the car that dont need to be painted are the bumpers, grille, tailgate and the inside of the bed. (and jambs too of course..). At least colormatch wont be much of an issue :D

the roof is replaceable. no way will they total that truck! alot of those dents can be fixed without paint even. probably only the hood will need to be replaced and of coarse the trim pieces

I would have loved to punch them in the face :-)

1st place said they could fix it for $4166.27 using aftermarket crap parts, get this they said they could put on a aluminum hood I laughed...so not using them

2nd place was a lil better, they said they would install factory steel hood, and replace the roof and bed sides... and they will repair the fenders and doors etc... and repaint the truck DSG factory... I'm gonna talk to him again making a list of "my demands" lol final cost came to $8142.01

think I'll go with #2

can any of you guys read the estimates? I'll scan them up to see exactly what they are going to do...
