Let me start by saying I bought the truck already SAS'd from a buddy of mine, and he had a shop do the swap. While it DOES work, I'm not very impressed by the work or way things are done. Had I done it things would of been done different, and when I have the money and skills I will be changing things up!

But, here are some pix of the springs buckets and radius arm mounts...




















Some things I would like the change in my set up are 1) I'd like to space the coil buckets out from the frame so the springs don't have to bow. 2) I'd like to space the rad. arm mounts of the frame to what would be stock distance for the F150 that the axle came out of.. Can prolly place some 2x4 box in there and mount them to that, but all in due times, and funds!!

You wouldn't think so, but it actually does have a decent amount of flex up front... the shocks actually limit my flex (droop)... Now that you mention it, that's something else, I've gotta rework the shock mounts to get a longer shock on there, the rear is fully limited (droop and stuff) by the shocks....

 

Much more and I'd be all into the fenders... But I will say this, I rebuilt the axle (all bushings etc) a couple months back... The radius arms limit the flex more than anything!!! With no coils and no shocks on the front axle the radius arms wouldn't even allow the axle to drop to the ground... had to stand on the hub to pull out the spring

 

As you can see the drivers rear is startin to pull... That's due to the shocks maxing out.




Pretty much raping the plate at the top of the ramp, kept smackin it with my bumper... coulda gone higher!

 

yeah you need to extend those radius arms.

 

No money or the needed fab/welding skills to do it right now.. Mainly need to get it streetable so I can drive it... I never had the issue of needing more flex when I was up at Tellico... On that same note, I've never seen a pair successfully extended and being able to take serious abuse! But I do need to remedy this problem (passenger rad. arm) First thing first... new trac bar set up.. I HOPE!

 

Flexes pretty decent but that radius are needs some love haha nice truck bud.

 

zack built a sweet set of extended arms that looked like that would take a hell of alot abuse im sure he will post about them and i hope he puts up pics of them because i wouldnt mind seeing them again

 

Would def. be interested in seein the arms he modified then! Had a buddy who extended and reinforced his to heck and back and after 2 seasons of serious wheeling they were thrashed... granted he wheels much harder than I do... But open for pix and opinions on extending them!

 

Nice truck, can't you convert the end of the radius arms to heim joints? Would sacrifice some ride comfort but that could solve your travel issue.

 

That's what I would do if i extend them. Seems most people tend to do that.... Are the arms cast metal? OR just standard? If they are cast then I'm concerned with penetration and it eventually breakin a weld.... Hmm I dunno.. I'd just like to get it streetable first, I'm more than pleased with the flex as it sits right now!
