Spare Tire Mount Pics.
I finally got my full size spare tire and made the mount for it. I got the idea from another member here(can't remember his name to give him credit for the idea though). I used (1) 8" eye bolt and (1) 12" carriage bolt and a few nuts and washers and drilled one hole through the bed rail. Cost less than $10. Let me know what yinz think .

It shouldn't. Both bolts are 1/2" and shouldn't go anywhere. I expect the bolts will turn and losen a little in the next couple of days, but I'll tighten them down.
An inch or two. I didn't really look, but not much room at all. The tire sits on the wheel well and the front bed rail.

i know that one picture is a little hard to see, i tried taking it through the window of the cap. ive had my spare mounted in the bed for about as long as ive had the truck. i havent had any problems with mine staying put. the last pic is with the original spare, ive put that tire in my trailer now and use one of my winter wheels for a truck spare now, also put the 4-bar between the tire and box.
tried to get some better ones of mine, had better luck tonight taking a pic thru the glass window at the j-bolt/eyebolt. ive got a good bit of space between tire and cap, 235/15 tire. in the winter i'll just put one of the "summer" tires in.

Thanks for the compliments.
I really like that idea! Mine just sits in the front of the bed taking up space. I have a matching stock rim though and that idea won't work well since the lug nuts are recessed into the rim. Heck why not mount it to the roof of the shell, the inside of the shell.
Here is a similiar product.

That where I got the idea from, I just couldn't remember his name.
That product will not work on a Ranger. Well at least not with a 32" tire. The eye hook site above the frame rail because the tires sits on the wheel well and the front of the bed rail. I thought about building something similar, but it would just cost more to accomplish the same thing.
