Valence and Rear Bumper Guard Painted
Valence and Rear Bumper Guard Painted
Finally got to painting the front valence and rear bumper guard today. Started by taking the valence off and such. Washed 3-4 times in dish washing soap. Scrubbed like crazy with some scotchbrite. Let dry for several minutes to and hour. Then whipped the whole thing down with 91% rubbing alcohol. Let dry again. Then finally went to painting with some duplicolor truck bed lining paint. (the line-x stuff) Put 3 coatings on both pieces. Let dry and bake in sun for 4-5 hours. I just hope this stuff holds well. On ward to the pics!

^ thanks! The back bumper plastic thing was a PITA to get off. Big time. And I broke both of the light housings for the lights that shine up the license plate lol. Nothing a little loctite automotive adhesive can't stick back together!
Thanks man! But yeah, the rear bumper pad is a flipping pain to get off. I would for sure recommend masking off the chrome and painting the pad with it still attached to the whole bumper!
Thank you! But yes I used the duplicolor bedliner spray. It spreads great and sticks well if you use proper preparation of the surface.
Well I reckon I can stand a little fading, cause it has needed to be painted for a while! I might get to the fender flares sometime, if I ever get another wildhair to do it lol.
I did the racks on my fourwheeler with the same stuff. It hasn't faded at all yet, I'v went on like 5 rides with it and the only problem i found with it is that if it gets mud on it,its really hard to get off

I used my pressure washer today to get the stubborn mud off.
Thanks man. I hope it don't fade much either. I took the Ranger wheeling on a couple of logging trails Wednesday, and there's not a single scratch or scuff down to the grey plastic that was there before I painted it. That stuff holds up pretty dang well.
