Here's the thing, I wanna change my spark plugs and I found out a box of motorcraft spark plugs by chance.

The only problem is the part # (AWSF42C) doesn't fit my 2.3L ranger according to the motocraft spark plugs part list (AGSF32FMF4 or AGSF32FMF6) I found on the internet and confirm by other websites.

And when I think about it, I don't know what spark plugs my dad put onto the engine 3 years ago.

Can it be critical for the engine if "wrong spark" plugs had been put ?

I compared those 2 spark plugs according to the motocraft spark plugs model number identification and here what I found out:

AGSF32FMF4:

A= thread diameter : 14 mm
G= gasket seat: 0.750" or 0.708"
SF= spark plugs type: conical seat and suppressor (charbon)
3= spark plugs heat range: cold
2= spark plug tip configuration: extended power tip
FM= spark plug characteristic: finewire platinium center electrode and nickel plate shell
F4= flat pack display carton w/ 4 spark plugs

AWSF42C:

A: 14 mm
W: 0.708"
SF: same as above
4: medium
2: same as above
C: copper core electrode

We can see they're almost the same but I don't know if those spark plugs could cause a critical damage to the engine.

So I'm waiting for your point of view.

 

They won't hurt it , just don't expect longevity.
Copper plugs don't last long in these engines.

 

Okay then I'll change swap them with the correct ones.

 

I put in a set of Bosch Platinum 4 spark plugs about two years ago and there's less lag on the low end and after two years they're still good to go.

 

I wouldn't waste my time or money on the Bosch plugs or wires.
I've had the wires fail on me and cause a lot of problems, the "plus" plugs are just a big sales gimmick.
Its been proven that they DO NOT help, look it up if you do not believe me.

Just get autolite iridium's or platinum's. Autolite makes Motorcraft plugs.
The iridium plugs cost a little more, but they should last a lot longer.
