92 ranger wont go into nuetral
Im 17 years old and new at this. my 1992 ford ranger will not go into nuetral when you press all the way down on the clutch and have it in gear. the truck wants to keep moving like an automatic. i am also have a hard time getting it into and out of gear. what could be my problem?
Clutch slave cylinder is shot is the most common and likely cause.
The transmission has to be dropped to replace it , so plan on changing the clutch , pressure plate and pilot bearing while in there.Chances are you will also need to have the flywheel resurfaced.
The clutch master cylinder may/may not be going bad , the problem is usually the slave.

drop the tranny, change the slave cylinder, pressure plate, clutch disc, and possibly resurface the flywheel if its glazed. if not don't worry about it, or the pilot bearing. but if its glazed, have it resurfaced and change the pilot while its out.
