94 header gasket?
94 header gasket?
so im pretty sure my dad talked 2 a dumbass at autozone yesterday...i told my father 2 get me a header gasket for my truck and he brings back a manifold gasket...so 2day i had him take it back and the guy at auto zone said thats all they have for my truck this wouldnt be a problem but the gasket they gave me is 4 a 3 bolt manifold and my header has only 2 bolts per pipe and the 3rd hole interfears with the seal around my header so my question is does any1 else with a 94 ford ranger xl 4x4 2.3ltr have headers or manifolds on there truck? thanks guys......... rf > frf = me
You need to go to a parts retailer who deals with performance equipment. Do you know which brand header you have? Google around and you should be able to order the gasket shipped to your door, and possibly cheaper than you will buy it locally.
lol it came like that bud it honestly looks pretty stock and i think i found out the problem he went 2 advanced instead of auto zone haha...i just checked az and they have what i hope will work its a manifold gasket but its 2 bolts ill just trim off the excess and hopefully it will work
Rockauto shows two kinds.
This would be what you want,

OEM # is F37Z9448A

The proper term is a manifold gasket, you have an intake manifold and an exhaust manifold. Header is a correct term, but Autozone, Advance, Pepboys, etc... rely on proper terminology. Same applies if you were looking for a downpipe flange gasket, it would be a collector flange gasket. I know because I used to work at Pepboys.

yeaaa cause i think my truck has stock headers not a manifold....btw im not tryin 2 b a ***** it just always comes out wrong..correct me if im wrong but i think headers have 4 single gaskets compared 2 a manifold gasket which is one piece well in my case neways
His truck came stock with the headers. I know because my 94 did.
Headers and manifolds are not the same thing.
Headers use a header plate which the individual pipes are welded to and run into a collector.
A manifold is a single cast unit with the four chambers combined to a single outlet.
They each use a different gasket.
eta
Some aftermarket headers used a separate gasket for each exhaust port. A real PITA to install.
