Battery positive shorted to ground?

Went to start the truck - nada. Tried to turn on the lights - nope. Took a multimeter and probed battery posts - 0 volts! Took connections off and battery read a couple volts. Also, though, the positive battery cable showed continuity to ground i.e. I set the multimeter to resistance and measured the resistance from the positive to negative cable - it was around 1 ohm.

Going to dig into this when I get home from work. Any ideas on where to start?

How old is your battery _ old battery won't hold a charge anymore _ shorted out internally ?

You may also have a drain somewhere in the truck.

Hi Jeff,

Battery's only a couple of months old.

The real problem is that the positive cable shows continuity to the negative cable, and the negative cable goes to ground.

I'll check my truck when I get home, but it would make sense that it shows continuity.
The clock is always on, things are always on even when the key is off.
Sounds to me like there is a short somewhere.

Our delivery truck did the same thing, the problem was the dimmer for the dash light/cab was shorting out.
