I haven't been on here in awhile, so first of all, hello to everyone!

I recently sold my 93 long bed 4 cyl 5 speed, and this is what I picked up:

1994 single cab
short bed
2.3
5 speed manual

good looking little truck, I will put pics up soon.

but my problem at hand is that I have a check engine light that comes on when I am on the highway..and some times while city driving.

I checked the plugs, and they look new(ish) and they are gapped correctly, plus it seems to run strong as if there was no misfire.

I am beginning to think that it may be the DPFE sensor??
does anyone know about these on this particular year? I heard that Ford had a recall on them and you can buy a new one with a new connector.
or perhaps something with the egr?

it is still OBD-I, does anyone know how to test it? don't you short it and count the number and frequency of the times the check engine light flashes?

any help is appreciated, thank you guys in advance!

 

Yes it is just a short and count flashes. Search for it....(or just wait <sigh> and I'll find the link in a min)
