Looking for water temp sensor part number
Looking for water temp sensor part number
Just finished up my head gasket job, I threw my plugs and coolant sensor in a bag a few weeks ago, the one that screws into the head, and it seems that bag has magically disappeared, if anyone knows the PN that’d be fantastic
Really need to include the year and engine model with questions
1999 2.5l Ranger, from your profile
This year and engine does not have a temp sensor in the head.......................................
2001-2011 2.3l Duratec engine did, but called a CHT(cylinder head temp) sensor
2.5l also had 8 spark plugs, so would need a big bag
CHT looks like this: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/...,350_QL80_.jpg
ECT looks like this: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/...15JvzxRXkS.jpg

ok so I’m not going crazy, everywhere I’ve looked online I saw the temp sensor was in the water neck but I know for a fact I pulled a temp sensor out of the cylinder head and yes I’m positive it’s a 99 2.5 w the 8 plugs, I had to replace the wires and plugs a few months ago. You can see the sensor in the first photo
1999 2.5l did have an Oil Pressure Sender on the drivers side of the head at the back, seen here: https://www.autozone.com/znetrgs/rep...3f8021b7e1.gif
Just below it on the block is coolant temp sender(not sensor), it is used for dash board temp gauge
ECT sensor(used by the computer) is at the top front of engine, sometimes on the heater hose

I took these from my Shop Manual for 2000 Rangers but it should be the same for your 1999.
The part number listed is 9278 but that might not be the full number.
