Looking for a p/u saw a 160k mile 2.3 5 spd, what im looking for. thing is while parked, engine not on if turning the wheel you can hear a noise. even driving slow, it's there, not a steering pump prob. he/owner says he inherited from his brother and it's from not being driven much. needs greased. is that so ? thanks, in a bind sold my ride and what i hd lined up guy sold it to another guy .. *sorry if already asked

 

Get under there and find out what it is and where its coming from.....

Ford Ranger power steering pumps are noisy even when new and working fine, so if thats what you hear then I wouldn't worry about it as a future issue, that's why we have radios in our Rangers

 

ops state even when engine not running he can hear it. So not the steering pump.

 

ball joints ..see how easy it is ?
