I got Strange Engineering shocks and springs. Springs should be shipping soon. If not I may call and change my order.

As for progress, I need to call the shop and find out if the test set is done yet. Now that the weather is good, I need to get out there and really start getting some things done. I'll keep you guys posted.

The brackets should be the same for a stock truck as ones on a "Superlifted" truck.

Only major difference in the conversion should be the length of the coil-overs & springs needed.

Sorry guys. I have to call the shop and see if their ready. I've just been super busy. I'll give them a call today during lunch and see if I can pick them up. I also need to get the hardware and price everything out as a kit for you.

logan03CO is correct. The brackets are no different for stock height or superlifted. It's just the shocks and springs that you chose for your application that will differ.

So I heard from the shop on the prototypes last night, and they should be ready early next week. Also, I should have my springs at about the same time. If all goes well, I HOPE to have time to get them fit next weekend. I'll keep you updated.

Fox, bilstein, fabtech, strange, and a whole bunch of other companies make coilovers.

There a lengths for lifted and non-lifted trucks, someone has them, they've been posted around here before.

For a coilover conversion you should also get limiting straps and the brackets for them as well. They will keep the travel limited so you don't max out the coilover and slam the UCA into the frame.

yea ive been searching for the links but havent found it yet, also trying to find the diagram with the measurements for the brackets as i can get them made locally to. can you guys with coilovers already get anymore lift out of the front or is the cv's pretty much maxed out? i have a superlift but plan on doing expo springs instead of my aal and beltech and would like it about 1" higher front and back then it is now.

i'm sure you've heard of cranking your t-bars. you can get about 2 inches of front lift my cranking your tbars so if you got coil overs just add an extra inch to the recommended superlift height to do the same thing.

i have mine turned up just a bit, maybe 1 inch to level it out with the back, i have 7" of clearance from the top of the tires to the bottom of the flares but i would like a bit more, i just want some movement offroad with the cv's so they are not maxed out and bind. where is a good place to order the coilovers? and what length for a superlifted ranger?

I did the Coil-Over Lift with a combo of SuperLift and ShadowXX?’s setup.
Works great.
The one thing I added that most haven’t and the item that is included in the RCD Kit is the Drive Assembly Support Struts.
These are Support Arms to support the “lowered" frt drive system; some said they are not needed but I for one think they are.

I will e-mail a guy that has made them in the past and see if he is interested in making more of the sets; don’t hold your breath.

Yeah good point, if the conversion is going to be done on a Superlifted truck..I would think a little additional support would be a good idea (like the RCD kit came with). I heard the RCD ones were pretty weak, but they look pretty simple to build using some 1" or 1.5" DOM tubing (.120 or even .250 thickness).

Picture of what we are talking about:

EXACTLY !
Can’t hurt.
I had mine made from HD tubing, .250 wall, the guy did a great job.

I am sorry if this is a sale thread, I didn’t read all of it.
Let me know and I will not post any additional sale info.

Another good point...thread seems to be mainly about the brackets.

Maybe we should move into one of the general/overall Coilover threads like here:
