Welding shock tower support
Hello converters!
I am curious if I can do the conversion and the. Have a welder reinforce the upper shock tower at a later date. I’m a daily driver and worst id hit is a pothole until the support is welded.
in your opinion, can I wait or does it need done first?

Thanks Mike
I would suggest removing the stock shock, trimming the bumpstop mount, install your limit straps (these will need to have tabs welded in) and install the brackets with the new shocks without the coils installed, leave the torsion bars in, then take it to your welder, when you get back install the coil and remove the torsion bar.
Reading through any information I can find again, I took this off of one of the other ranger forums. Sort of conflicting information. Anybody here with a non superlifted ranger could possibly chime in?
Extended Eyelets – All trucks, Superlifted or not, will require extended eyelets. The Fox part number is 213-01-238-A, which is 4.488 in long, 3.75 in center to eye. The extended eyelets raise the bottom of the shock body above your CV boot & axle to prevent rubbing. You really need all of the room you can get down there between the CV boot and the coilover body/spring to prevent rubbing. You can see the clearance issue if you scroll down (3) photos.
NOTE: Do not use the extended eyelets if doing this conversion on a stock height Ranger. They will reduce your up travel and give you a rough ride.

Yea, that's definitely conflicting information. I can understand why extended eyelets are needed on a Superlift or Rough Country lift, since the control arm sits further away from the upper shock bracket. That's not true on a stock Ranger, so common sense would state that extended eyelets are not needed on a stock Ranger.
I'm going to throw the extended ones back on one side to see if I can get it leveled with out needing so much preload. Found a similar setup and from another member in here and he said hes running extended eyelets and still has about 2 1/2 inches of travel left in the shock with it sitting level. Maybe it works with a leveled truck and not the stock height with the rake.
Removing 99 Ranger Lift kit
In process of putting my 99 Ford Ranger back to stock. Everything pretty much has less than 50 miles on it except for superift kit I bought used couple years ago. I never got around to buying tires and gears so decide to go different route to play offroad. I am removing a pair of 6" skyjacker rear leaf springs, 4" super lift kit, coil over brackets. Fox 2.0 emulsion shocks with extended eyelets, pair of 850 lb hypercoil springs, also have another set of 650 lb I bought used from race shop, and stock shock eyelets. Just throwing this out if any one is interested in it.

Coil over kit
since had i had no real interest in whole lift kit. I figure I would list coil over set up here. Kit has coil over brackets, fox 6.5 shocks with extended eyelets. 2 850 springs, 2 650 springs, and 1 750 lb spring. Asking 750.
Is this still available?
Thanks.

Look at Northpeak4x4. He made mine and still has website up. Have to weld them. I have his drop spring hanger I never welded up if any one interested in them. They raise truck or they will elininate the leaf spring spacer. I have set of front and rears
Place I found in a ranger group started making these. Not trying to step on previous manufacturers toes but this is what I know is available now.
