Horrible Sound

So every time I turn the wheel to the right, a horrible sound comes from behind the rubber boot on the rod attached to my tie rod. It's driving me crazy! Does anyone know what's behind this boot, cuz it won't come off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry my phone sucks and I can't post a picture.

Loud screeching, the rod itself vibrates when you turn the wheel.

that would be your rack and pinion. check your power steering fluid. i know my 00 makes a whine when i turn the wheel but i also need to flush my ps system. the fluid isnt very pretty looking. check the color of you fluid also it may need to be flushed.

The is a clamp on the end of the boot that needs to be depressed so you can slide/pull the boot off but all that is behind it is the rod that goes into the rack. more than likely the noise is coming from inside the rack.

Sounds like the rack is toast.

Installation is no problem. He did a complete tear down and rebuild for me and installed my new motor for free."Family don't pay." In his words. Thanks a lot guys.

It could make it hard to steer and if something breaks insdie it might prevent you from turning.
