removing front sway bar

is it safe? i want more "flex" in the front end but i dont want to destroy my axles or make the truck unsafe to drive. is it really going to change the hadeling fo the truck? is it worth it?

Just do it. Unbolt it. It's not that big of a deal.
See if you think you're going to rollover and crash.

I took mine off over 2 years ago and haven't missed it.
My wife drives my truck all the time too.

Some people don't like it without a sway bar. Yeah it sways and leans in turns. No big deal to me.
But it doesn't feel unsafe or anything. The improvement in ride quality was worth it by itself.

just don't drive like you're in a Vette and you'll be fine.

its a noticable difference if you yank on the wheel, disconnect and pull out one of the links and see how you like it.

I've thought about this as well. Do you have to worry about blowing cv's or anything like that?

cv's will be fine. i had mine off for about 2 years then rolled my truck. i put it back on after. if you are not lifted too much or not at all i would think it would handle better, but being ~9" higher than stock makes it pretty wobbly in corners

I've broke 6 or 7 or 8.. idk lol

I think that was mainlt attributed to the locker/35s/my right foot

I'm not running mine either and I love it. Like Matt said, just unbolt one link and see if you like it or not. If not just put the link back in.

Get quick disconnects or just unbolt it. That way you have it on the road and it only takes a minute to disconnect it when you hit the trails.

instead of having a bolt on the top have like a cotter pin or somthing. honestly i drive like a jackass and have never had a issue with out my sway bars... yes the truck can come up on two wheels easier but most of the time im askin for that to happen.

they don't sell quick disconnects for our trucks, you have to make them.

the ones for jeeps normally have 2 pieces, and they slide over each other with a pin in the middle.

hell I'm sas'd on some extremely soft springs sitting easily 9-10" above a stock ranger, no problems yet.. but it's one scary ***** to do 70 in.

try it

Go ahead and try it, it is easy enough to put back on. I took mine off this summer and it was fine around town but i did not like it when the truck was fully loaded with hay or hauling a very heavy trailer, that is working to or over capacity. I would leave it off if off-road was my primary driving, but I also need 75 mph highway cruise and sometimes haul the big loads.

Um i did a little bit. I went left pretty fast and i started rubbing in the front right wheel well which has never happened lol. There's a fatty dip in my road that i usually drive around cuz its so bad, and i went over and the bounce or whatever was reduced by about 75% even feel. i seriously said "oh my god!" out loud haha

I might just do this. Just to check it out. I know I would love to get a little more flex out of the front.

Will removing it let the arms move that far? Would limit straps be a good idea?
