My 2010 4x4 4.0L ranger needed front bearing/hub. Thought it would also be a good time to replace ball joints. Removal of lower, no issue. Upper is a different story!
i knew replacing upper could include A-arm as well. A parts store sold me an upper ball joint which they said would fit the stock A-arm. However, I cant manage to press the ball jt out.
is it possible? has anyone done it? Have i been sold the wrong part and actually need both arm and ball joint? Help!

 

upper control arms are cheap and the all come with ball joints. Have you checked rockauto?

 

Agreed. Thought if upper ball jts were straight forward, why not. And save an alignment.
