225/70R15 vs 235/75r15
I've had two 2009 ford rangers, both rear wheel four cylinder. Only difference is my current one is a 'sport' model. My preferred tires are only available 235/75 but this one is rated 225/70. The tires I put on last time are basically for cars and get poor traction. What are the potential drawbacks of using the larger tire? I'm certain I had the larger size on my previous truck which seems to be almost the exact same thing.

A XL supercab and regular cab both came with 225/70 - standard with 235/75 optional
A XLT supercab and regular cab both came with 225/70 - standard with 235/75 optional
A Sport supercab came with 235/75 - regular cab 225/70- standard with 235/75 optional
So no reason you couldn't put 235/75 on this truck, speedometer will be off, you'll be going faster than what speedometer reads

I bought the 235s. Walmart wouldn't put them directly on my vehicle because it says 225 on the door so I had to take them off in the parking lot and wheel them in. I think my speedometer read a little low anyway so hopefully they won't be too high. Be nice to have some real treds for once going into winter.
