fuel economy drop with bigger tires?

fuel economy drop with bigger tires?

lookin at gettin 265/75/15 or 31 10.50 15 for my truck since im in need of some new tires. does anybody konw what kinda mileage drop i might see from stock tires to bigger size.. i have a 00 4x4 4.0 all stock right now.

Not much with the 31's I would think. I know my 4 banger didn't drop much.

I saw no difference when going from 31's to 33's on my '07 4x4.

I bet it would drop alot if your truck is auto then a 5spd.

^ Mine's an auto... but I drive about 95% highway which is likely why I didn't see any difference.

I went from the stock 255/70/16 to 31x10.5/15 and saw ZERO change in fuel economy. 07 4.0 3.73's auto tranny

i went from my stock tires to my 285/75s and i dropped like 2 MPG

I went from 245/75 to 33/12.50 and I only saw about 1-2 mpg loss

I went from 3.73 with 31s to 4.10 with 31s and lost a 1 mpg maybe 2. Now im running 32s with 4.10s and ive gained maybe 2 mpgs. So now im back to getting right around 19 combined mpgs

This is good to hear, I just picked up some geolander at-s, and the stock tire size and all sizes around that are on national backorder. They had 31x9.5 available so I took them.
