totally ripped off someone elses post on another forum
The Baja King, in 36" diameter only, was the hot bias ply desert tire in the 70's and 80's.

M/T reintroduced them in ~2000 for a limited run (new old stock?), and I saw them on a '98 Ford Expedition in Reno around that same time. It was a brand new tire, and looked great on that truck/SUV.

I called M/T Tires shortly thereafter, and the sales/marketing guy told me that the tires were hard to manufacture in a perfectly round shape (were tough to balance,) so they were discontinuing them permanently.

Here is an example of one of M/T's adverts circa 1999 (?)...

lots of people run all terrains in the sand.. ever heard of BFG Bajas? thats a desert tire..
