WTF theres green sludge in my radiator
So ya i just got my truck back from the transmission shop paying 1200 to get it working again. so i get back home and just start cleaning up my truck, i popped my hood and just out of habit i looked in the radiator over flow and it filled completely with green sludge... what i'm trying to figure out what this is... i have been told a few different option..
to start the mechanic told me that it looked like there was water in my transmission or something like it..
so one suggestion was that i was told that our tranny's are cooled using our radiators....so that means that there is a leak in the radiator mixing the two fluids... which means that if thats true then my tranny is about to get Messed up again....
the other thing i was told was that maybe the fluid was just really old and when replace a hose and put more fluid in it loosened up old gunk and mixed it in...
and the last thing i was told was that its has one of those sealants that u add to the fluid to seal up any leaks in the radiator... which once again worries me about messing up my tranny again...
just to let everyone know though my engine isnt over heating at all.... does that mean that i have the first sludge cooled engine... sorry needed a little humor in this situation...
so please tell me what u think this might be cause i dont have a lot of money after the tranny repair, but i'm not going to let things get worse either
