1988 Ranger no fire to fuel pumps

I put in a New computer, new fuel relay, new tank fuel pump, new inline fuel pump still no pump turns on. I traced the wire from the subframe pump there is a plain black wire and pink and black stripe wire. Which one is positive? Because neither one has fire coming to it. I checked all the fuses and double checked the fuel relay. Still no fire at all to the pumps, except for the tank pump low pressure pump the yellow and black stripe wire blinks on the tester. Is there any to bypass it to turn on fuel pumps?

Same Problem

I have the same problem with my 86 Ranger. Cranks but doesn't start. I have no power going to fuel pump and when I test both terminels ( @ the fuel pump) they act like grounds. If you have any insight on how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

Fuel injected???

If so, there will be a Fuel Pump Relay in the engine bay, and an Inertia switch in the cab behind glove box

Fuel pump relay will be on inner fender passenger side and its GREEN, base for sure but the relay can be green or black
Looks like this: https://www.therangerstation.com/for...350-jpg.61856/
Brown base relay behind it is EEC relay

Unplug it and look at tabs and slots for corrosion, also look at underside of green base for the same
This relay should "click" on with Key on, then "click" OFF 2 seconds later, its a safety thing
So there is no full time 12volts at the fuel pumps(there are 2) unless engine is running

Inertia switch in the cab is there to shut off the fuel pumps in case of an accident or roll over, looks like this: https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qi...b1589f8c750-lq
It's a 2 wire switch with a red button on the top, button will pop up if switch is "tripped", and can be reset by pushing the button back down

If no 12v at inertia switch then could be fuel pump relay is bad or its Fusible Link, fusible link is a short wire that "acts like" a fuse, so can blow like a fuse, but not common for that to happen

You can hook up a test light/volt meter to either wire on the inertia switch and to a ground, then when you turn on the key you should see the 12volts for 2 seconds, it will do that 2 seconds EACH TIME key is turned from off to on

Battery positive------fusible link-----------fuel pump relay---------------inertia switch-----------------------------fuel pump in frame------------------------fuel pump in gas tank
