Lift for 2x4

I have 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 2x4. I want either a 3 or 4 inch body lift. Do they make lift kits for a 2x4? If so, are there any respected/well known sites that sells kits? I live in Jacksonville Fl for anybody that knows some local dealers. Thanks

ok ill say it before the other guys make fun of you... call it a 4x2 from now on... body lifts are made for all kinds of vehicles no matter the drivetrain,as it has nothing to do with whether the vehicle is 4x4 or 4x2... for ranger the most common is a 3" body lift and the most reputable one is PErformance Accessories 3" Body Lift (summitracing.com)

thats the only body lift kit actually, some guys cut the blocks down to 1 or 2 inches, but there is a lot of fab work involved with that.. 3" is the most common and recommended for our truck

Florida Lift Laws: (you're not doing anything close to this, but it's just nice to know your state laws if you're lifting your truck at all...)

Florida
If your truck's net weight is less than 2,000 pounds, the max bumper height is 24 inches front and 26 inches rear. If it's more 2,000 but less than 3,000, it's 27 front and 29 rear. And if it hits the scales between 3,000 and 5,000 pounds, it's 28 and 30 inches.

With a 3" body (lift) for 98-00, you can fit 32" tires, IIRC.

Try to get the kit with the additional bumper brackets. A whole kit can cost anything from $60 on eBay (occasionally) to a new for up to $170.

Haven't heard much about the Summit Racing brand...

Pete hit it with that link.. those are the four major body lift brands for our truck

IMO the Per. Accs. seems to be the most popular
I have no experience with them yet so i cant offer a true opinion

I vote P/A...you're just paying $240 for the name of Skyjacker, and no one is gonna know or give a damn if it is or not. All offer equal "performance" (er...well, just a rise in height for larger tires)...cheaper in this case, is just as good...

Go with what your wallet tells you...
