2.3 EGR
2002-2011 Ranger has the 2.3l Duratec engine, nothing like the earlier Rangers 2.3l Lima engine, which would be 1-2 hour job
2.3l Duratec in a Ranger means transmission should be pulled out to get access to EGR system, so more like 4-5 hour job
You should also change rear coolant fitting and hoses at this time
I would say all data or other "labor time" sites are either confusing 2.3l engines or vehicles, the 2.3l duratec EGR in a Ford escape would take 1-2 hours since engine is mounted sideways
The Ranger is the only vehicle that used the 2.3l Duratec in a longitudinal mounting, so EGR is next to the firewall and there is no access from engine bay
