Got a couple of Qs

I have a 2010 Ranger 4 cylinder that I bought used and the prior owner didn't change the oil properly. I t had 102K miles on it and I've added 150K but the oil is getting dirty very frequently now and I must change it every 2000 miles. It is also burning oil rapidly, like a quart every 1500 miles.

I have a new pcv valve to install, not that will help a whole lot.
I have replaced the pcv valve in other vehicles but this rig is different so how do I replace it?
Also, I would like some info as to cleaning the inside of the engine and is there any way to slow down the oil burning short of major engine overhauling?

Any insight will be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Chuck
