Dear Forum, I am new to this Forum and joined hoping to answere my ?'s? I own a 1999 Ford ranger 4x4, manual Transmission, and A 3.0 engine. Can you put a 4.0 engine in it? And from what years ford rangers can i use? My engine is leaking coolant from the heads. I feel its a good time to upgrade to the BULLET proof 4.0. it also has 165000 miles out of this engine. motor, trans, wiring, computer, etc. no, it will not bolt to your current trans. you want something similar to your year, but any 98- current really could work.
