94 3.0 in a 2001 3.0 ranger

What’s the difference from 1994 and 2001? I have a 2001 Mazda B3000 that blew up and the only engine I can find is a 1994 3.0. What would I need to change out to make it work? Will everything match up and be no problem?

It will work but you will need to swap some parts

You will swap the upper and lower intakes complete with injectors
1994 has a distributor which you will remove and install the 2001's Cam sensor/synchronizer in its place
You will need to swap timing chain covers and crank pulleys
The 1994 didn't need a crank sensor because it had a distributor, 2001 needs a crank sensor which mounts on the timing cover and reads tone wheel on the crank pulley
