I got my ranger stuck and figured id switch it to 4x4. well when i did the high and low lights on the dash blink 6 times. it wont even try to engage, the lights on the switch aren't lighting up its just the ones on the dash. I need help awfully bad... thanks!
its a 1998 ford ranger extended cab, manual transmition, 4x4.

 

I'm sure you did but its worth asking, was the clutch down and foot on the brake? also, you only have dash lights, no lights on the switch would turn on from going to 2wd to 4wd.

 

yeah i did... and i realize that now... but it still isn't fixed.

what was the issue? t-case shift motor?
