Got a blown motor (bad trans too) 2001 3.0 flex fuel ranger. Also have a good 2001 3.0 Vulcan ranger non flex fuel bent frame good trans,motor. If anyone has done that swap what will need to be changed on the Vulcan or will everything connect properly any help is appreciated

 

It will be plug and play since both are 2001

But swap over the Flex Fuel injectors to the non-flex engine

Gas only used 14lbs/hr injectors
Flex needs 19lbs/hr injectors

 

Will swap the injectors thanks and just found out today it's actually a 2000 3.0 flex ranger and I'm wanting to put in 2001 3.0 motor and transmission that will still work and be plug and play?

 

Yes, it will work, but there will be 2 extra sensors on the 2001 5R44E transmission, ISS and OSS, they are on the outside, you just won't hook them up, the 2000 computer doesn't need them and wires won't be there in any case

1995-2000 Ranger 3.0ls used the 4R44E model, but it is exactly the same transmission internally, so you can put a 2001-2008 3.0l 5R44E into a 1995-2000 3.0l Ranger, but NOT visa versa, because 2001 and up computer NEEDS to have those 2 extra sensors

And still swap injectors
