Aftermarket intakes shouldn't make a high pitched bearing type sound. They just allow more air to be consumed. (Suction noise is different from the noise we are describing in here)
Anyways...Does anybody else think it may be related to the throttle cable.

bob, can you prove the oil on the filter did this to his IAC?
i have seen TB's and IAC's gum up with regular filters so yeah. unless you can prove it was the filter then be quiet.
if you like i can take pics of my TB and IAC (my camera is not as good as yours) and let you see what they look like after 50K with an oiled filter.
and in case you forgot, the factory ford filter came slightly oiled.

All you have to do is hold the K&N up to a light source, and you will see why it passes so much dirt, and oil!!! Now hold a OEM paper filter up to a light source. I think you will even be able to see the difference Mark!!
Do a search on high Si with a UOA due to using a K&N air filter!!
Why do you think K&N puts this in their warranty:
"K&N will not be responsible for any other expenses incurred by the customer under the terms of this warranty, nor shall it be responsible for any damages either consequential, special, contingent, or otherwise; or expenses or injury arising directly or indirectly from the use of the K&N Air Filter."
You won't find that with OEM paper filter manufacturers!!
Mark, try and comprehend this: K&N air filters were developed for off road races like Baja, because the OEM type paper filters would clog in no time. The K&N's
would not clog, but the same amount of dust & dirt was flowing........guess where the dust & dirt went? K&N knows how much dirt their filters pass, or they wouldn't
put "not responsible for damage" in their warranty statement, or they wouldn't sell this "Precharger filter" for use with their filters in "Very Dusty Conditions"

But, I can understand why you would fall for K&N's BS!!!
