Buzzing Sound When Braking
Hey, does anyone know what this buzzing sound is when I press the brakes? Went to Ford and the mechanic said he can barely hear it and said it's nothing. Said it's just the air being pushed passed the baffles. Under normal operation that shouldn't be happening though, right? It's really annoying while driving and also feel the brake has a lot of travel. Any help would be much appreciated. Clip of braking linked below:

Mechanic is correct, noise is most likely nothing to worry about, but pedal travel, if its changed, can be
Power brakes work using air pressure
The power booster has a diaphragm inside that can hold vacuum pressure, 18" hg vacuum which is about -9psi
Inside the cab on the brake booster is the Atmosphere valve
When you press down on the brake pedal the pushrod opens the Atmosphere valve and outside air pressure of 14.7psi can come into the booster, and that allows the -9psi to give you an assist in pressing down on the pedal, the "power" part of power brakes
You can get down near the booster in the cab end and with engine/key OFF press down the pedal a bit with your hand and you should HEAR the outside air entering the booster
You can usually get 3 to 4 pedal presses until the "vacuum" in booster is now at outside pressure, so no more assist
Restart the engine and "vacuum" will be back at 18" almost instantly
Now with turbo charged engines, like the 2.3l ecoboost, there is a need for a robust Check Valve on the booster, you may want to ask then to change the Check Valve on the booster if..............the noise is in the engine bay not in the cab(Atmosphere valve)
Pedal travel should be consistent over time, so a change in travel would be first sign of a problem
